The recent shift of events has created a new normal where the home has become the central place of work and leisure. Being at home during the current pandemic, can have its perks but also bring some challenges. Some of you may have faced a decline in productivity, unless of course you have mastered the skill of self-discipline. Being inefficient can be demotivating and even hinder creativity. So if you would want to get back on track with your fitness regime, complete your daily work targets or finish up some chores, few of the following time management strategies can come in handy:
Write a ‘To Do’ list: Overcoming procrastination in practical ways involves knowing what needs to be done, how to do it and when to do it.
Prioritize the tasks: Rank the tasks from most important to least important. Break the task into smaller doable tasks and then estimate how much time for every task.
Be flexible about strategies: It takes trial and error to figure out which strategies works best for you in order to complete the task. Whether it may involve doing the tasks from worst to best, taking regular breaks, or keeping a time limit for yourself. Be open-minded about failures and try again.
Prime Time and place: Discover the spot in your home where you are most energized and motivated. Make sure these areas are distraction free and help you attain maximum concentration.
Plan Rewards: You can purposefully plan a reward for yourself within your schedule to motivate the work. These rewards don’t have to be extravagant or expensive. It can be as simple as reading a good book or ordering takeout
Release the pressure: When you feel overwhelmed with the work-load, take a moment to remind yourself about your progress so far, even if it is little. Take a few deep breaths and settle yourself. Being calm and composed helps with productivity and creativity.
